The Price Family: One Crazy Summer!

We have had one busy summer! Luckily that is how we like it and boys love to “go!” So of course, we have to make them happy! Plus all our families want to see Brody and Jayce and we want them to be as close to their family as they can. So, we hit the road (several times)

Once Jason finished coaching baseball and school was out our summer went into full swing! (Literally) Brody and Jayce went with us to 6 Royals games all before the All-Star break! Since then, it has been way to HOT for our little white headed boys! We headed back to Shelbina for Memorial Day weekend. We had not been back since Mom’s birthday in January so it was wonderful to see everyone. My cousin’s band, The Katie Todd Band played in Clarence and Brody and Jayce showed off dancing in the streets. We also caught up with family at the Wright Family Reunion and the Moore’s.

June 4 was our 5 Year Anniversary so we spent the weekend in St. Louis. Mom held down the fort in Clinton managing the boys and dogs quite nicely. Jason and I had a great time at the Landing, the Cardinals game, and checking out local shops and bars.

June 13 was Rachel’s birthday so Brody, Jayce and I headed to Columbia. We went to lunch at CJ’s where Rachel works. Dad came up and Brody and Jayce got plenty spoiled at the Porters between Grandpa Moore, Marilyn, Michael, Ryan and Michaela.

As a tradition, Jason and I always go to the Royals/Cardinal Series in Kansas City. This year we got tickets to all 3 games. We took the boys Friday night and they had a blast. They road the Merry Go-Round and played in the fountains. It was a hot one! Too hot for little boys on the Saturday and Sunday games. Grandpa Moore watched the boys while we went to the Saturday and Sunday games which were both at 1:00 in the smoldering heat. Also, to be noted the Royals won the series 2-1.

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Bethany hoping to get some pool time at Rhonda’s pool. The weather didn’t completely agree with us but we did spend some time in the water. We came back to Clinton Sunday evening and Monday we headed up to Camdenton for a day on the lake! Brody and Jayce got to try out their new lifejackets. They didn’t mind them at all! Gary rented a pontoon boat and the Brody and Jayce were the center of attention with Mom and Gary, our family, Megan and Zach, and Rachel and Brian in attendance. Brody even took a (very slow) tube ride with Aunt Megan!

The following weekend it was back to Bethany for the Polley Family Reunion. We had more pool time and good food with the Polley family. Plus, we got in a little sun before leaving for our cruise! That Sunday morning we left the boys in Bethany and headed for sunny Florida. We cruised the Bahamas Monday-Friday with Megan and Zach and Teresa and Carl. We had a great time taking full advantage of having no “responsibilities” for the week. It was strange to be away from the boys. The trip was the perfect amount of time; regardless of the great times by Friday I was ready to be back home. We arrived back at KCI Friday night about midnight and headed to Bethany. We got there about 2:30 in the morning. I woke up the boys. They didn’t seem nearly as excited to see me as I was to see them! Saturday we headed back to Clinton. Then Sunday, another day on the Lake of the Ozarks! This time we rented a deck boat and rode all day with Mom and Gary, Julie, Molly, Andy and Rachel. Another day well spent on the water. Plus, we finished just in time. We got back to Mom and Gary’s condo and there was a tornado! No worries, we were all safe and sound.

The last weekend of July we headed back to Shelbina for my 10 year Class Reunion. I took off of work Friday and so did Dad so we could hang out with him. Friday night my good friend Casi gave the boys their first haircut. De-mulletization is what I called it. I was sad to see their curls go but it was time. They weren’t very cooperative for her but they are now mullet-less! Next time we are considering a buzz cut! Saturday Brody, Jayce, and I met some other members of my class and their kids at the Shelbina Lake Park. They played until they were exhausted and then headed back home. (The big boys were golfing) That evening we had a dinner with the Class of 2000 and then went to Hoots.

There, you have it! That is our summer so far (and the reason I haven’t gotten a blog done.) As you can see, I was pretty excited to not have to pack or unpack anything this week. Jason and Jim put up a privacy fence in our yard so we are hoping to get a good start on staining it this weekend. Otherwise, we are just hanging out in Clinton, MO.
